Strange California laws
After following [Bad username or site: elynne's @ livejournal.com] link to the Ringtail Cat page, I went to the California Code to find out what animals are illegal to keep as pets in California, and discovered that it's illegal to keep slugs (without a permit).

Now I'm going to live in fear that some animal control officer is going to come around to my house and arrest me for letting my illegal slugs out into the garden without a leash.

Somehow, I doubt that the show would feature much in the way of high-speed chases... though they could show the police, uh, S-9 unit, slugs trained to sniff out other, illegally kept slugs. And they could do other important things for their police partners, too, like... um... okay, I can't think of anything just at this moment, but I'm sure I'll come up with something eventually.
