Yes, but Trouble With Lichen is probably his geekiest book. I was very impressed to see it on the list, as a lot of people - even if they've read several John Wyndham books - haven't heard of it. I personally love it, but the gender politics is indeed a little dated, although it wasn't at the time of writing. If firecat wants to try him, in addition to the one's you've mentioned, I highly recommend The Chrysalids, which is my own favourite and is the book that I'm reading to lizw at the moment.
