He doesn't try to restrict what I buy, but he is very stereotypically male in not understanding why I can't do one thing, finish that, then get the next. It's more bemusement than attempts to change my behaviour I think.

Covering the available horizontal areas in *stuff* does tend to ... annoy him a bit too though. As it does me really, so I mostly keep it confined.
