My brain is teasing me. I recall talking to someone when last in Tokyo about Hello Kitty and she's not based on the welcome cat. Unfortunately neither Chris nor I can remember where she actually got her start. Chris suggested I google her but the last time I did I got directed to so many porn sites it wasn't amusing.
