Yeah - yesterday's beads poinginess was from reading three beading magazines that leandra333 gave me, and the cluster design was modified from a design in one of those. The other was modified from a wire-work book. (Also from leandra333.)
I have a suggestion for future editions of the spiral. When making them in pairs, how about having the spirals have opposite chirality, so that, e.g., the earring worn on one ear would have a left-handed spiral and the one worn on the other would have a right-handed spiral? Instant mirror symmetry!
What is the term for the wire that you attached the beads to the findings with? I just made a set of earrings, and I used silk to hang them with. It went OK, but silk being silk, the beads are not being particularly stable in place. I'm never sure what to look for at a bead store in order to use the wire base.
You can attach beads to findings with a jump ring (wire circle) or a head pin (short length of wire with one flat head to keep beads on) twisted at the top to form a ring, or a plain piece of wire twisted into a ring at the bottom and top.

The cluster one is really neat too, though, and Starts Me Thinking.
