5 word poetry

A writing inspiration group I've been looking at for a while is 5_word_poetry. Below the cut is what I wrote with the words posted on December 19.

This week's words: wheel, sunrise, thought (n), shivering (adj), giggle (v)

At sunrise, shivering, as the wheel of the year groans and creaks and slowly begins once again to ascend, she stands still with a half-peeled orange in her hand. Birds go about their noisy business. Somewhere nearby a child is giggling. No thought stirs her silent mind.

Thank you! I continue to find it interesting that you usually post several-stanza poems out of the 5 words and I have yet to get more than a few sentences. (I don't think the length of a poem says anything about its quality one way or another...it's just interesting.)

Well...

...to be fair, they often end up that long because I need that many words to get all five in. :)
