Confused hummingbirds

Both yesterday and today, a ruby-throated hummingbird hovered within inches of the window screen to the left of my computer. It was close enough that I could hear its wings beating (unsurprisingly, they make a low humming/buzzing sound) and hear it chirping.

There was a cat in the window each time. I guess my cats look like yummy flowers.

Is the window easy to access? I'd put up a hummingbird feeder, along with a couple decals so that bird doesn't hit the window.

ooooh, nice and even better!

I'd put a fountain out there for them. They like to dip into them. I'm crazy, though.

They like spritzers and sprays.

Either that or the hummingbirds enjoy taunting your cats. "I'm a tasty morsel and I'm out of your reach!"

I guess my cats look like yummy flowers.

Or the birds look like yummy treats. :)

Ah, Songs from the Wood... I discovered that my senior year of college, and probably drove the other kids on my floor nuts by playing it obsessively over and over again. Then I went home for the summer and drove my parents nuts by doing the same, interspersed with Steeleye Span's Below the Salt. I still like to describe my vocal range by saying that when I first wake up in the morning, I can sing "Velvet Green" in the same octave!
