Is it very wrong that my first impression of the overly-wide-set eyes in a pool of indistinguishable Inky Blackness was "How Lovecraftian!"?
(That's the problem with having a black pet -- the camera flash washes out all the subtle changes in sheen that give the RL viewer reference points for the actual shape of the critter. I have the same problem trying to take photos of my black cat.)
