...and the Realist knows that when the Optimist and Pessimist are done arguing about the level of water in the glass, she's going to have to wash it, dry it, and put it away.

Good: I'm at Wiscon
Bad: I have to work on my book and have to skip a panel I want to see.
Good: I have been to a couple of other really good panels, seen some folks I missed, and met some folks I never met in RL before (waves to [livejournal.com profile] ljgeoff)
Good: Swimming!
Good: Hanging out with my cousins who drove from Illinois to see us.
Good: Five fluffy pillows.
Bad: Humidity.
Good: Ass-kicking air conditioning.

Optimist, Pessimist (http://www.signals.com/signals/Item_Latin-OptimistPessimist-Pint-Glasses_HC5132_ps_dpr.html)

And the realist, as you say. And the engineer says the glass is twice as big as it needs to be. Yeah, all of that. :-)

I think perhaps you are a realistic engineer? ;^)

I think I tend to be a realistic pessimist. When the glass is half empty, I'm that much closer to needing to wash it and put it away. :^)

Five pillows?

A friend of mine used to say he didn't care whether it was half full or half empty, he was going to hunt down and shoot whoever took half his water.

*waves back* Myself, I'm having a wonderful time, and was wonderfully pleased to meet you. I just have to remember to breathe!
