Heading to Las Vegas

Stage 1 of my roadtrip to Las Vegas is complete - I'm in Bakersfield, in a very new and comfortable Springhill Suites room with excellent free wifi, and the desk chair is even big enough for me. I had planned to go to one of the many Basque restaurants in town for dinner, but I decided I was too tired to leave the hotel room, so I ended up dining a la Trader Joe - genoa salame & provolone cheese slices on multigrain crackers, grapes, and chocolate mint waffle cookies (those were from Whole Paycheck).

Next I'll get out my knitting and see what's on Animal Planet. Do I know how to do a roadtrip or what?

No room service. They had a restaurant delivery service but it said it would take over an hour, and I was hungry.
