Yes, I have gathered that my relaxed face is kind of scary. I guess I should make an effort to smile more often, but feeling obligated to smile when I'm not especially happy tweaks my feminist sensibilities. ("Smile, little lady!")

For some reason, the serious photo makes me think of the Queen - both Queen Elizabeth II's neutral face that you rarely see in photos, and Queen Victoria in her We Are Not Amused face.

You look much more like how I think of you in the smiling photo. Hmm.

That's very interesting about Elizabeth II because I've always thought my mom looked a bit like her, but no one has said that I do. (I've always thought I look more like my dad.)

I do see the Queen Victoria resemblance in that my mouth seems to frown when my face is relaxed.

I'm glad that your impression of me is more similar to the smiling photo.
