Recording streaming audio on the Internet
A couple of my friends do radio shows that are streamed live on the Internet, but they happen at times I usually can't listen, and they aren't archived for copyright reasons.
Is there any Mac software that works like a VCR for streaming audio, that would let me set a timer to record the shows so I could listen later?
(I suppose that would be against the copyright rules too.)

If you could somehow turn them in flv (flash video) files, you can use the software "YouTube Downloader" to turn them into audio.
Actually now that I think about it, you can use that software to turn mp4 files into audio too. I think it might be very versatile. It's free software btw; all you have to do is find it via Google.
I use that software to download videos off of YouTube and also to extract the audio from it. I know your videos are streamed,...so I'm not sure if that could work. Maybe it's possible [if you're using Quicktime to play the videos] to purchase Quicktime Pro (or something like that) and then be able to download the video, since I know that is possible when streaming audio mp3s.
Your best bet perhaps (and what I would do) would be to simply turn up your speakers, let the program play, and set a digital recording device about 4-6 inches from the speakers. Or, you could also use an external mic (doesn't have to be a good one; the one that came with your computer is fine) to capture the sound and the built in recording software to save it as a WAV or mp3. ... I don't have a Mac; I have a PC. And my default recording software is simply "Recorder". I know "CD Wave Editor" is freeware on the internet that does similar things and includes the option to split audio files into individual tracks.
Good luck
