Keeper essay on privilege

This essay tries to explain what privilege is and what to do if you have it, and I think it does a very good job. The only thing I don't like about it is the title. The essay includes a metaphor involving dogs, but it's not about hitting dogs or anyone else.

"On the difference between Good Dogs and Dogs That Need a Newspaper Smack."

via kaigou, whose comment is also a keeper: "No, the metaphor is not perfect. Every metaphor will break down at some point, and they do so faster if you try and go literal on them."

Yeah, good essay, and I'm not impressed with most of the comments saying "Yeah but didn't YOU just make an assumption?!" Dumb asses. That's because it is a parable and not a proof. She didn't say "every man" she said "A man" as in, "A typical man". (See? This is why we can't have nice things!)
