Mad Max: Fury Road

On the advice of about 90% of the people I know everywhere, I saw Mad Max: Fury Road today. I found it a huge sensory overload, so my initial reaction was something like "It's like trying to read everything on Twitter for 90 minutes." It was a good movie and had lots of feminist messages, like 90% of the people I know everywhere said.

Unless everyone is completely done talking about it already, there might be spoilers in the comments.

I haven't seen it yet, but this gives me an excellent idea of what to expect! Thank you!

Also, the words were harder than usual to understand. I'm pretty good at all sorts of Antipodean accents from the former British Empire, and I wanted subtitles for any crowd scene.

Though most of the dialog between specific characters was understandable! And it's really a movie of action more than anything. FUN!

I particularly liked Mandy Brown's review of MM:FR here:

* There's been a lot of movies recently where I've come out of it saying "Good movie, worth seeing, but I don't want/feel any need to see it again or own it." Among those has been "Selma", "Foxcatcher", and "American Sniper." I probably would watch MM:FR again, if for nothing else to try and catch the stuff that just whirls by the first time. It was fun.

* Would also definitely rewatch "Interstellar" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" at least a second time, as well.

* I'd probably put the last "Hobbit" film and "Age of Ultron" in the "Had high expectations, but the whole thing was kind of a mess" category, sadly. I'm really, really hoping the next "Star Wars" movie doesn't fall in here; was not a fan of the prequels, much as I wanted to be.

I need to watch it again. We were really close and I missed little details like Doof having no eyes. Also I want it to make lots of money so that there is more of this sort of thing in the future.
