Mad Max: Fury Road
29 May 2015 05:26 pmOn the advice of about 90% of the people I know everywhere, I saw Mad Max: Fury Road today. I found it a huge sensory overload, so my initial reaction was something like "It's like trying to read everything on Twitter for 90 minutes." It was a good movie and had lots of feminist messages, like 90% of the people I know everywhere said.
Unless everyone is completely done talking about it already, there might be spoilers in the comments.

* There's been a lot of movies recently where I've come out of it saying "Good movie, worth seeing, but I don't want/feel any need to see it again or own it." Among those has been "Selma", "Foxcatcher", and "American Sniper." I probably would watch MM:FR again, if for nothing else to try and catch the stuff that just whirls by the first time. It was fun.
* Would also definitely rewatch "Interstellar" and "Guardians of the Galaxy" at least a second time, as well.
* I'd probably put the last "Hobbit" film and "Age of Ultron" in the "Had high expectations, but the whole thing was kind of a mess" category, sadly. I'm really, really hoping the next "Star Wars" movie doesn't fall in here; was not a fan of the prequels, much as I wanted to be.
