Duck, politics incoming
10 Feb 2026 05:37 amThis article boils down to “we told you so.” But I like how it explains why the mainstream media dismissed and downplayed what we told you (because their “how to do journalism” rules demand it, e.g.: “Insist on a both-sides structure even when one side is lying“).

Date: 10 Feb 2026 10:25 pm (UTC)One of the things that infuriates me about the How, How Could We Have Known media handwringing is that nearly ALL this stuff either happened his first term (children in cages, deporting immigrants, going after sanctuary cities) or was on his wishlist ("Can't we just shoot them in the legs?") but he picked Cabinet members who held him back. This time around he's got Cabinet toadies and the Supreme Court. I mean, he flat out said this would be about vengeance and the 2020 election and so on. In a weird way he doesn't lie, not about his intentions. Fucking Ron Lauder was telling him about Greenland in 2017! This guy really nails that aspect.
