It’s the 10th anniversary of the first broadcast of Lucifer, which is one of my top 3 favorite TV shows.*
I FEEL SO OLD 😭

*The other two are Star Trek the original series and Babylon 5, just don’t ask me in what order.

What makes you feel old or young?
What are your favorite TV shows?

Leverage is the show of my heart, followed closely by The Good Place. Avatar: The Last Airbender and Slow Horses have been pretty good too. (Legend of Korra is at its best better than AtlA but both its nadir and its median episodes are worse than AtlA's; LoK is further hamstrung by being four short stories instead of one long saga; and LoK's politics are just incoherent. Korra's character arc is spectacular, though.)

I don't really feel old, or even older, terribly often, but I do a lot of thinking "jeez, those people / actors are SO YOUNG".

Leverage is glorious; I just wish I'd gotten to watch more than about a quarter of it. same for LOK. (I fortunately got to watch most of ATLA)

My all-time favorite TV show is "Slings and Arrows."

Everything makes me feel old at this point. Everything I think of as 20 years back turns out to have been thirty or forty. Or more. I was talking with a friend on Dreamwidth about the climate changes in central Illinois. She pulled up some statistics from fifty years ago. I was about to say that that was before my time -- we moved away when I was 8 -- but it wasn't. It was AFTER.

Slings & Arrows is some outstanding television there. Thank goodness for LJ, as I learned about the show from a local theatre-ish person. OMG.

Oh my gosh Slings And Arrows <3 that may have been my first real TV love. Definitely past time for a rewatch. "I can't comfort you, Anna, I'm on hold."

The AV Club's interview with the creators seems to be offline but huzzah for the Wayback Machine:
Part 1, Part 2.

I guess Babylon 5 was my favorite TV show?

My first "I feel old" was when I was in my mid-20s. I'd gone off to college, and not seen my youngest step-sister since I left. IIRC, she was about to start 7th grade the last time I saw her. Maybe 6th. Definitely pre-pubescent.

The next time I saw her was at her wedding. She'd probably grown a foot, and gone through puberty. It was a big shock to see her.

> [favorite shows . . .] just don’t ask me in what order.

My "Top N" lists often rotate positions depending on context. Like, sometimes you need one kind of comfort watch, and sometimes you need another. (This is seen most easily, I think, in the "top ten things in life," where the top position might be a good book, a shower, or sex, depending on context.)

What makes me feel young? Remembering that my aunt is in her mid-nineties. I may be older now, but the previous generation is still around.

it makes me feel old when I watch a movie I love that took place in the 30's and was made in the 70's and I realize more time than 40 years has passed since I watched that movie when it was new.
My favorite TV shows are the first 3 years of House
Monty Python
Fawlty Towers
CSI (first 8 years)
A Bit of Fry and Laurie
Mystery Science Theater 3000
Boardwalk Empire
Father Ted

I feel old when I'm tired and in pain. Not just one, that's just life. But both really feels like old to me.
I feel young sometimes, but it's hard to explain. I guess I feel young when the choices I make to live in society still allow me to do the fun things I want to do.

Babylon 5 fistbump!

I also really loved NUMB3RS because it was science fiction in the current day (much like how Lucifer was fantasy in the current day), and White Collar because of its glorious OT3 and comforting copaganda.

The other day I commented on a story and the author said "hi! I'm a fan! I used to read your stories in high school!" THAT MADE ME FEEL OLD..
