Tonight I listened to part of the Giants/Phillies playoff game and thoroughly enjoyed it. For me listening to a baseball game on the radio is the perfect way to engage with baseball. There's something about the whole soundscape that's profoundly comforting. Maybe "comforting" is not what most people want out of a sports experience, but...
I imprinted on baseball when I was 6 (almost 7) and the Detroit Tigers won the 1968 World Series. The kids were allowed to bring radios to school to listen to the game. I also used to stand in front of the TV in the living room and imitate the pitchers.
