Thank you for writing for me! I'm very excited to see your take on any of these worlds - I love them all and can't wait to see what you have to add!

General likes and DNWs

Structurally, I’m a big fan of epistolary fic, in-universe documents (including academic pastiche and social media pastiche), and outsider POV.

DNW: explicit sex scenes, BDSM

The Windrose Chronicles

the Citadel of Wizards, wizards' apprenticeships, hasu/Church wizards

What is it like to live in the Citadel of Wizards? I'd love to see a slice of life there, or perhaps an exploration of the origin of any of the many architectural oddities that became part of the Citadel over the years.

I'm very curious about what wizards' apprenticeships tend to look like in general; I'd also love to see an exploration of any specific apprenticeship, whether that's Antryg or Daurannon studying under Salteris, Kyra learning from Rosamund, Antryg's apprenticeship to Suraklin, or anyone else!

I'm also really curious about the Church wizards! What is day-to-day life like for the hasu? What is their training like? How do they think about their role in the Church and the nature of their powers?

The Silmarillion

Vanyarin culture, Valimar, archaeology of Beleriand, manuscripts and manuscript transmission, Tol Himling after the War of Wrath

We're told that the Vanyar and the Noldor built Tirion together, but that the Vanyar later left Tirion to dwell closer to the Valar. What is it like to live among your gods on a daily basis? How does Vanyarin culture change after the death of the Trees? After the War of Wrath? We don't get too much about the Vanyar, and I'm interested in really any direction you'd like to take this!

I'm fascinated by the questions of (a) what survives the sinking of Beleriand, (b) how it survives, and (c) how the surviving material is interpreted and reinterpreted by future scholars (and laypeople!) to recreate the history of Beleriand. What are the gaps that still need to be filled in? Where is the guesswork right – and where is it wrong? Why were these things preserved and not others – was it chance? If it was deliberate, who decided what was to be preserved, and how did they make that decision? Are there questions of authenticity and suspected forgeries? What new meanings did objects and places from Beleriand take on in the Ages after the War of Wrath?

Star Wars Legends

Jedi holocrons, Centerpoint Station

I've been kind of obsessed with holocrons for a while now. How sentient really are holocrons? What role do they play in Jedi society – both in the Old Republic and in the rebuilt Jedi Order? What is it like to interact with the holographic echo of someone you knew in life?

Centerpoint Station absolutely fascinates me. What is it like to live in the hollow interior of a space station the size of a planet? Who were the first people to live in Centerpoint, and why did they choose to settle there?

I stayed up past 3 finishing that mystery that did exactly what I thought it would do, sigh. Slept for six hours and then suffered complete defeat of the will about getting out of bed. Went back to sleep at some point and dreamed of my godmother coming to see me at not quite!Bedford on a dank March day like the one actually happening outside. My back bedroom had a deck and wooden steps going down to the ground, and one of my Birkenstocks fell down it as I was saying goodbye to her. By dint of some Escher-like configurations my room looked in on the house next door-- in reality a good 30+ feet/ 10 metres away-- and its new tenants. That I did not sleep into noon was only thanks to misreading my clock.

After which I phoned three tree services to arrange estimates on trimming the cherry tree. One guy is coming Tuesday between 10 and 12, moan, and the others will get back to me at some point. I don't in the least want to do this at all at all at all, but it must be done and will definitely cost. Am feeling apocalyptic about everything so hell, let's spend money I may not have once Don the Con's shenanigans tank my stocks.

Once it stopped raining I went up to the tony wine store and bought a pricey bottle to thank SNDs for shovelling all that snow during this very snowy winter. When I explained what it was for, the clerk opined that it was very nice of me, which well. Not really: it's just the law of equivalent exchange that five years in Japan dinned into me. Or maybe it was something in my anglo TO upbringing, which I wouldn't notice because, well, that was simply the way the world worked. So I was confused by American roommates who didn't have the reflex that if you get you have to give. One of them did get set straight by her Japanese acquaintance but it was clear that the idea was completely new to her.

Now I just have to wait for the SNDs to be home. Oliver was zooming about the yard today in his doggie snowsuit, but I haven't seen him at all this week.

Diary of a Cranky Bookworm cover

May 12, 2012

Dear Diary,

DISASTER. I thought college application essays were bad enough, but now I have to write a summary of my diary??? Horrifying. I’m just a high school senior in a small town in Minnesota, getting up to shenanigans with my friends, retreating to my Treehouse to daydream about slipping into a portal fantasy, and discovering to my horror that my long-time nemesis is maybe, possibly, actually a delight.

And I might be a little bit in love with her.

Which is an unwelcome Realization, as it is sure to cut disgracefully into my reading time. And that’s already in short supply, in between college applications and AP calc and my friend Arielle who always thinks she’s in crisis maybe actually being in crisis for real.

Is that enough of a summary? I sure hope so, because it’s time to meet Georgie for our weekly trip to the library!

Hello. I'm Nanno. Nice to meet you. )

My Comments: My recent obsession has been Girl From Nowhere, specifically our delightfully unhinged main character Nanno. I've been looking at various fanvids being made, and these two stood out to me, with their respective song choices and editing. The first (which captions are to be turned on for dialogue) mostly is around the first season and just her various revenge plots, while the second just centers around Nanno at her best: being brilliantly deranged in the best way. No spoilers are given in either, just Nanno being Nanno, and just a glimpse as to why I enjoy the character so much.

I wore my equinox/solstice shirt to tap this morning (it has suns and moons on it).

I wondered why so many school-age kids were in public, not in school, then I realized that Lexington schools were closed for Eid al-Fitr.

I again made soup for Nowruz (which I don't observe otherwise).
https://lauradi7dw.dreamwidth.org/736850.html
This time I used rice linguine instead of whatever noodle was originally Persian. Still delicious.

I texted a 2024 photo of Arthur's late father (whose birthday this was) about to blow out candles on a cake. Thought of my late friend Linda, also her birthday.

The first BTS album in years (as a whole group) was released today. I planned to go to an actual store and buy a physical CD, but when I called Newbury comics, the goods hadn't arrived, so I listened on youtube. There is a track called No. 29. It is just a bell sound and then silence. Or not silence, maybe my ears aren't good enough to hear the lingering vibrations. It's this bell
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_of_King_Seongdeok
Flo and I saw it when we were there in 2024, but didn't hear it. It's almost never rung. That's OK - it's over 1200 years old, and deserves a rest. I presume the producers of the album used an old recording.
https://youtu.be/8wZNqBR8MOw?si=zJorkgu0D58lU22w

On the 18th, the anniversary of my mother's death, Flo's family, my sister and her husband, and I had a zoom gathering. I also (as I have before) wore my mother's blue shirt. Today I was in the supermarket and saw butter pecan ice cream for sale. I think of it as a southern thing, and I have seen the claim online that it has a racist background that I could hardly believe - Black people were not allowed to buy vanilla ice cream so they made up other flavors? At any rate, there it was, and I bought some, thinking of Mama.

Unbidden, my mother apologized the other day for something that wasn't hers, namely the pressure to stay in college instead of taking a medical withdrawal the term I had surgery. (I would've been allowed to return to school subsequently without penalty, but they wouldn't have pro-rated the fees, of course.) I was off for our one week of spring break, and then I resumed carrying a backpack uphill to class daily.

It wasn't hers because I didn't grant her my choice (and she didn't know enough about how US universities operate to make a good guess about my options). The responsibility is shared unevenly between a dead person and me, and I think my concerns then were valid, given that he tried truncating my undergrad studies the next year---because, he said, not for the first time, I wasn't taking it seriously enough. Dude who had left secondary school unfinished told me I was doing undergrad wrong.

Unlike Sana in Jalaluddin's Detective Aunty, I always knew my mother was good for more than cleaning, cooking, and child-minding. It still took some effort to learn to see her as a person, however.

Apogee by OpalApparition - where Commander Shane Hollander and Flight Engineer Ilya Rozanov are stranded on the International Space Station and have to survive a solar storm. It's an amazing mix of hard science, detailed knowledge of the ISS, space program history, intense action/adventure, gripping drama, an incredibly repressed Shane, pining, jealous Ilya, incendiary sex in microgravity, and romance. The writing is extremely good - gripping, fluent, with great descriptive detail. It's the best complete AU in the fandom I've read so far. (50,348 words)

I'm very into everything by OpalApparition, especially Wolfbird - a regularly updating WIP featuring professional dom Ilya and extremely uptight hockey star Shane. Although the way they meet is a BDSM club, in fact the fic's largely not about that (although there are several extremely hot scenes). It's more about the two characters, as despite his in-control dom role at the club, Ilya's actually a complex mess, an illegal overstayer with a ruined knee after a disaster very early in his NHL career, and Shane is the profoundly repressed hockey-robot star he'd be if he'd never met Ilya as a teen. It's addictive, and, as above, beautifully written. (currently 170,925 words)

This spooky ghost story has a central pairing that I feel like I may have requested as an original work: Widow/Female Fake Psychic/Ghost of a Female Bog Body.

My Darling Dreadful Thing is set in the Netherlands in the 1950s, which is a selling point all by itself as I love unusual settings. Roos is a young woman whose abusive fake psychic mother forces her to participate in her fake seances. But though Roos does not communicate with the spirits sought by the desperate, grieving customers, she actually does have a spirit companion, a bog body whom Roos has bound to her and named Ruth.

Roos is delighted when Agnes, a biracial (Indonesian/Dutch) widow, takes her as a companion and spirits her away to her neglected Gothic mansion in the middle of nowhere. The mansion is otherwise occupied only by Agnes's sister-in-law, Willamine, who is dying of tuberculosis, and has a marvellously bizarre Gothic history. Roos falls hard in love with Agnes, with whom she has a surprising amount in common.

But this whole story is being told in retrospect, as a series of interviews Roos is having with a psychiatrist who is trying to determine whether she's mentally fit to stand trial for murder. Something very bad happened at the mansion...

Very enjoyable, very gothic, very atmospheric. I'm excited to read van Veen's other two books. I looked her up to see if she's actually from the Netherlands (yes) and learned that she's one of a set of non-identical triplet sisters! I don't think I've ever read a book by a triplet before.

Somehow, in the middle of this madness, [personal profile] roga and I have managed to take a trip. We were originally supposed to go on an organized trip that got canceled because missiles, but we already had a day off from work and we ended up booking a hotel by the sea for 1 night.

The hotel is in a region that gets far fewer missiles (less of a strategic target), and though I can't say I got much sleep on this trip it was still amazing to just... not be in my house? Not have to do endless dishes and laundry? Just wake up by the sea and have breakfast by the sea.

We drove 10 mins to a nearby picturesque town and went around the few shops that were open (making sure we know where the nearest bomb shelter is at all times of course). We went to a little museum by the hotel that randomly had a bunch of military equipment Napoleon dumped into the sea after the failed siege of Acre.

I posted some photos on Bluesky.

It was just 1 day off work, and just 1 night away, and almost the entire time it was raining and cold. We were woken up by a missile alert (the kind that SCREAMS at you from your phone using those natural disaster overrides, but only means there COULD be a missile headed your way, not to be confused with a siren) at 2am, and when roga didn't answer a text or a call I put on my warmest coat and boots and ran over to knock on her door, just to make sure she was awake if there WAS a srein and we suddenly needed to run to the hotel bomb shelter in less than 90 seconds.

I was on my period and taking painkillers basically the whole time.

And still it was so nice to do that. It helped so much. Just one small breath of fresh air.

Life is pretty chill, for the most part.

Blair was hit hard with the flu and is way behind in almost everything. She graduates in May and is looking down the barrel of having to find a career in her field, though that's looking to be quite difficult these days (national parks and whatnot are being defunded, after all).

I need to do my taxes. I've been doing everything BUT.

Mostly between the two of us, we've been working, sleeping, and cuddling on the sofa watching youtube. It's a listless time, as the season changes over. We got a LOT of snow this last weekend, so much so that my work was closed down on Monday. Keeping things tidy, running errands, and trying to keep up with my shows. I'm not a very interesting person these days, haha.

We've got a small local convention we're going to, the weekend of May 1st, so we're going to have to get our cosplays out and clean and patched up if anything needs patching. We're concerned about Blair's, because, well. Since starting T, she has gotten quite buff, and there's a very good chance that parts of her costume won't fit now. We're also futzing with our hair, because neither of us are much interested in continuing to use wigs when we don't have to. Los Angeles Comic Con also FINALLY dropped their dates for this year, and I've submitted my time off request. It's going to be over Halloween weekend this year, which should be interesting. And a lot of fun.

Trying to finish this week's episode of The Pitt before I gotta get ready to go to Blair's mom's birthday dinner.

So after months of waiting and high expectations, BTS released Arirang, a.k.a. THE BEST ALBUM OF 2026 (just in case y'all were curious as to how I feel abt this AWESOMECAKES musical journey that's sent me into astral projecting since I sat down to listen to it last night at midnight. Current faves are NORMAL, Body 2 Body, FYA, and Like Animals. But, seriously, the ENTIRE album is magnificent.)

The guys did a full hour and 25 livestream on YT where they talked a little abt the process that resulted in this album (including things like WHICH SONGS DID JIMIN WAS AGAINST? HOW MUCH INPUT DID EVERYONE ACTUALLY HAD? WHAT HAPPENED IN LOS ANGELES?) + some mild spoilers for their docu next Friday.

Unfortunately, RM got injured during practice so, although he will be onstage tomorrow, he's wearing a cast AND won't be doing any choreo (obvs).

In any case, it's deffo a good look at where BTS is at in terms of their bond AND their goals AND career AND how they feel abt where everything is nowadays. It's an excellent window into BTS' world (including a lot of razzing of RM, praise of Jin, cuteness from Yoongi, sassiness from Jungkook, insight from Hobi and V.)

The video begins proper at 4:28

Work yesterday left me incredibly frustrated. The ducks that are nibbling me to death have mutated to giant size and with razor-sharp beaks. Because I was so frustrated, I decided I needed to reread one of the most disturbing sets of Hannibal AU fics I've ever encountered: A Gifted Student and A Letter to My Abuser. They're gorgeously, awfully written. (If you decide to read them, pay close attention to the tags oh god pay close attention to them.)

A Letter to My Abuser is, in some ways, the harder read for me, because when I first read it I tried to figure out why I identified so hard with a side character; Ollie, so giddy to meet his literary idol, but forcibly warned/ran off by this AU version of Will Graham. When I read it last night, my brain went "ohhhhh, yeah, Neil Gaiman", and then I had to read some fluffy fic to scrub my brain.

I hope his victims get closure. And that they win the legal actions against him, because they deserve the money they're suing for.

---

EDITED TO ADD: I used to subscribe to FKAHerSweetness' Ko-Fi, as she left Ao3 and only posted her fic behind a paywall. I eventually ended my subscription because as time went on, I didn't enjoy how she wrote Will. She writes AUs only, and more power to her, but they became something I didn't want to read.

Once again, I have failed to post anything beyond once a week.  Ugh, I suck. Sorry, everyone!

To be fair to me, Ramadan has only just ended (happy Eid to those of you celebrating today). Ramadan has meant several late nights for me, as I've been doing anti-ICE patrols--though one of my groups actually had people patroling in the wee hours of the morning--like, 3:00 am! I wish I were the sort of person who could have done that? I bet the Dispatch calls were fascinating. And, maybe it would have inspired a vampire story or two, who knows?

Part of me will miss this. In particular, I will miss the Night Owls.

The Night Owls (which actually start at the fully normal hour of 8 pm) are an interesting group. It's a group resistance Signal call for anyone up and about until dawn, no matter where they are located. So, I've had people on with me that were coming in from exo-suburbs and even nearby small towns.

The culture of a lot of the Signal calls is that commuters and stationary/foot/bicycle patrolers say pretty quiet and only turn their mics on to do a plate check. This varies from community to community, of course, with some dispatchers encouraging more back and forth or doing round-robin check-ins. It really depends on who your "Guy/Gal/Enby in a Chair" is.  There's things specific to specific groups too?  My hyper-local community always signs-off with "Have a great night, Fuck ICE" in the same sort of casual tone you might tell a partner "Love ya!" before hanging up. I joke that I can always tell people from my area when they show up on the larger calls because they still do this even when its not the culture of the call? Other dispatchers sound a little thrown to hear folks from my neck of the woods just casually signing off with a happy little swear. There are also cool acronyms that I'm not fully privvy to, like some folks from the other side of the river apparently say: SSFI for Stay Safe, Fuck ICE.  I tried to say that today since there are lot of little ears around the mosque during Eid, but my dyslexia was like... UH GO SLOW... so totally outed myself as NOT one of the cool kids, after all. :-)

But the Night Owls are their own special crew. Their chat is actually vetted, but the call is open to anyone commuting, etc., late night. Once daylight savings time hit, my stationary patrols started at 8:30 pm so I joined the Night Owls. The Night Owl folks are just chattier? Largely, I think because it is often the same crew--people who do the late shift UberEats or whatever other driving gigs they might have.... people who are just up all night. They will talk about their favorite energy drinks or talk about the usefulness of jumper cables or sometimes even awkwardly attempt to flirt over Signal voice chat. Ocassionaly, someone will break in with a startled, "Y'all, I just saw the world's biggest rat run across west 7th! And I used to live in Mumbai!" There was a whole discussion that spanned several nights about the ICE agents on Grindr (a gay dating app).

I got invested, you know?

These people became some Real Life version of my own personal soap opera. I am going to admit that I have clearly formed some parasocial relationships with certain code names.

That being said, they were really there for me when I needed it. There was an incident that I haven't blogged about a couple of Wednesdays back where my plate check came back hot, or shall we say VERY COLD, possibly even icy if you get my drift. I was stationary (on foot), alone, and dispatch very kindly asked me if I wanted a drive-by from one of the other commuters in the area. This icy vehicle was also stationary? We had clocked each other? Like, they were parked and the three of us had made eye contact. So, my voice jumped an octave higer than I intended and I was like, "Uh, yeah, I would not hate that, dispatch. Thank you!"

Y'all, within MINUTES rescue arrived.

Rescue was a gender fluid person on bicycle patrol. This fully bearded, beautiful human being rolled up in 10 F/ -12 C degree weather in a skirt and Wicked Witch of the West striped tights. They had a high-powered telephoto lens camera with them and, I kid you not, the sight me--this tiny, fat lesbian on a phone--and  this amazing person arriving on a bicycle caused my icy van to decide THE THREAT WAS TOO BIG (which, honestly, was the most ICE-like move they made). They fled. I reported that my sus van was on the move to dispatch and I could hear commuters everywhere leaping into action. I am sure my sus van had a tail before they turned on to the next biggest throughfare.

When I had to sign out, I heard the Night Owls making sure someone would continue to swing by to keep an eye on the mosque. I was so thrown by this experience that I didn't remember to text our contact inside the mosque until I got home, but I only live minutes away, so they got the word out for people to be extra careful that evening, too. I don't know, of course, for sure the folks we chased off were who we were afraid they might be, but I'm just as happy to have freaked out any other potential bad actors, you know? I swear that right now, in the Twin Cities, you do not want to be a "local, independent pharmaceutical entrepreneur" because some commuter has eyes on your business!

So, I think this is why I feel kind of connected. Like, these are my comrades in arms (or by phone, as in the case of the Minnesota Resistance).

Happy Eid, but good-bye my dear Night Owls! SSFI*!

Things about this month, just for context:
  • One week on three different work schedules
  • One week on a hellish 5:30-1:30 morning newsletter schedule that actively makes me ill and wrecked my ability to either do anything or recover
  • Finishing up my big vintage Coach feature, which I'm so excited about and want to devote deep-work time to, but!!!!
  • Closing + packing + arranging contractors (yesterday: floor refinishers; today: guy who checks out the heater; tomorrow: painting?!!! with friends, though, yay!)
  • Dog care as Gingko gets increasingly anxious about the apartment being taken apart
  • Election coverage at work!!!!! Mega projects, late af night on Tuesday!!
  • WTF is happening with bsky blowing up finally spotting antisemitism and still not handling it well at all
  • Oh gosh, right, my formerly dislocated left elbow hurts more
  • My period is coming and I am always hungry and exhausted.

I can't tell if I'm farther along in packing than I should be or way, way behind. But the rooms are getting less full, the boxes are filling up, the things I'm listing on the Buy Nothing group are being claimed, and if I swing this, I won't have to move again until I damn well choose it. (This move, while welcome in many ways, is because the guy who owns this condo told me a year ago that he wanted to sell this spring, so.)

I'm sure there was more to say. I have to donate my books somewhere that will give me cash and not just store credit, because wow, dangerous. I have to set some timers to just get things in boxes, because we're running out of time to thoughtfully sort things. I have to start work in two minutes. I cannot wait for life to be routine and boring again!

I don't have a lot of toys from my childhood with me here in Finland, just a few stuffed toys that were made by my mom. This doll is the first thing my mom made for me: a Cabbage Patch replacement. (I wanted a Cabbage Patch as a toddler, but my mom made me this doll instead, which was even better - she was so beautiful to me, and my mom hand painted her eyes!) This doll has been lying flopped over in a basket on top of a bookshelf for a few years, and she caught my eye as I was going to bed one day a few weeks ago and I started thinking that it's a pity that a work of art that my mom worked so hard to make isn't being played with.

It's possible there will be a toddler in the family I could give her to in the next few years. But in the meantime I felt sad about her, dusty and poorly dressed, so I examined her and knitted her a little outfit.

The doll needs washed as well, but I want to wait for summer. Her body is light pink cotton that has gotten rather grimy, but her face isn't machine washable. My mom says I can take off her head and wash the body in the washing machine; and I wouldn't want to do that until it's warm outside, and sunny, so it would dry as quickly as possible. The face definitely needs washed too, so I'm going to have to try to spot wash it.

All three of these wee garments took me only about 6 days to make, and they're made of leftover scraps (the striped shirt and the yellow cardigan) and a bit of cheap sock yarn (the jungle green pants). But I got that feeling of excited accomplishment with a finished project three times! They have the details of bigger garments, and they're so cute and tiny, even more so than making sweaters for small children.

Today is mostly sunny and quite warm. It's already 78°F outside. 0_o

I fed the birds. I've only seen a few sparrows and house finches, but lots of birds are singing all around the yard. I suspect they're more interested in foraging.

I put out water for the birds.

EDIT 3/20/26 -- I sowed 3 troughs with 'Sugar Ann' snap peas and 3 with 'Avalanche' snow peas. I put 2 peas in each end of a trough, leaving the middle open to plant other things. That makes 24 pea plants. These are bush types and did well last year.

EDIT 3/20/26 -- I sowed one trough with 'Lovely Lettuce Mesclun Blend' and one with 'Thumbelina Baby Ball' carrots. I plan to sow more of those 2 weeks later.

EDIT 3/20/26 -- I did a bit of work around the patio.

EDIT 3/20/26 -- I trimmed a few spray bits of brush in the parking lot, and followed up with weed spray. My partner Doug is trying to find someone to come install a load of gravel.

A large flock of several dozen blackbirds has gathered high in the trees.

EDIT 3/20/26 -- I watered the six troughs on the benches of the new picnic table garden.

EDIT 3/20/26 -- I used the last partial bag of compost & manure to spread a little over the eight big pots atop the new picnic table garden. So I'm out of that and nearly out of the American Countryside potting mix.

EDIT 3/20/26 -- I put topsoil in four of the big pots atop the new picnic table. They're not completely full yet; there's room to add a bit of potting soil.

EDIT 3/20/26 -- I put topsoil in the other four of the big pots. I still have a partial bag left.

I am done for the night.

The Ainu are an indigenous people native to northern Japan and nearby parts of Russia. Kayano Shigeru (1926-2006) was a leading activist for Ainu rights in Japan, and eventually became the first Ainu member of the Japanese legislature. But his career in the Diet came after the publication of this book, which mixes memoir, history, and ethnography.

Kayano relates what he knows of his people's oppression in the 19th century, when the Japanese government pushed many Ainu groups onto marginal land and conscripted people for forced labor at minimal pay. This leads into his own childhood, when his family's generational poverty was exacerbated by his father's alcoholism. As a young man Kayano came to feel ashamed of being Ainu, culminating in a demeaning job at an Ainu-themed attraction, performing sacred dances five times a day for gawking tourists.

But the tourists' ignorant questions sparked Kayano's realization that there should be a real Ainu museum curated by actual Ainu people and fostering respect for their culture. He was inspired to travel the Ainu lands collecting one traditional tool or piece of clothing at a time (and always paying the people who made them) and eventually succeeded in opening the museum and renewing his own sense of pride in his heritage.

This short book highlights important issues, but I have to be honest—I found the presentation pretty dry. Maybe it's partly the translation? I also noticed that Ainu women weren't given much attention; Kayano has a wife, but her only character trait shown in the book is "supportive of her husband". But I'd say the book is still a good resource on a significant figure in global indigenous rights.

(As an aside: This book was on my TBR list for at least 15 years. This year I'm really trying to either read some of the long-time lingerers or admit I'm not going to read them, so having read this is a great success for me!)

How has this month been going? I woke up to spring and didn't even realize. It looks the part: the occasional crocus, a faint fluff of clouds in a harebell sky. Hestia is absorbing the sun-flood from my desk. I will be celebrating the equinox with an MRI. My major accomplishment of yesterday was successfully wresting a permit from the Parking Department. I am filing a request for an intercalary year.
