bcholmes wrote a really great post about the history of documentary films.

It provides a new perspective to me on where Michael Moore's films stand in the documentary category. I used to think they aren't really documentaries because they are too manipulative. But it's clear from what bcholmes says about the history of documentaries that they stand well within the genre.
