A Reading Meme

Hardback or Paperback? - Whatever's in the library.
Highlight or Underline? - Used to highlight and write notes in some books. Have been trained not to by the OH.
Lewis or Tolkien - Tolkien, but should try re-reading some Lewis sometime.
E.B. White or A.A. Milne? - Milne, I cut my language teeth on Milne.
T.S. Eliot or e.e. cummings? - Mostly Eliot, but cummings wrote my favorite poem ever:
Yes is a world
& in this world of
yes live
(skilfuly curled)
all worlds --e. e. cummings

Stephen King or Dean Koontz? - Haven't read either; if I were alone in a hotel room with nothing but Stephen King and Dean Koontz books, would pick up a Stephen King book first.
Barnes & Noble or Borders? - There's a difference?
Waldenbooks or B. Dalton? - There's a difference?
Fantasy or Science Fiction? - I like best stuff that combines both, but I also enjoy books that are one or the other.
Horror or Suspense? - Suspense
Bookmark or Dogear? - Dustjacket flaps on hardbacks; a business card for paperbacks. I used to dogear but the OH trained me out of it with piteous looks of horror.
Hemingway or Faulkner? - Pretty under-read on both; have read more Hemingway, and liked it OK.
Fitzgerald or Steinbeck? - Haven't read Steinbeck; suspect I'd like him better than I liked Fitzgerald.
John Irving or John Updike? - Never read either.
(Rant follows): Where are the women writers in this quiz anyway? Le Guin or Emshwiller? Russ or Cherryh? Rice or Hamilton? Bronte or Bronte?

Homer or Plato? - Homer by a long shot
Geoffrey Chaucer or Edmund Spenser? - Chaucer.
Pen or Pencil? - Pen
Looseleaf or Notebook? - Notebook
Alphabetize: By Author or By Title? - Nonfiction grouped by subject; fiction not organized at all.
Dustjacket: - On (used to be Off, but now I am sorry because I have lovely early editions of Eloise books that aren't worth as much because the dustjackets are lost.)
Novella or Epic? - Prefer just plain old Novel; have read a few Epics, fewer Novellas.
John Grisham or Scott Turow? - No
J.K. Rowling or Lemony Snicket? - Rowling. Haven't read Snicket.
Fiction or Non-fiction? - Yes. For many years I was a bit afraid of reading fiction, and I've gotten over that, so for the moment it tends to be more fiction.
Historical Biography or Historical Romance? - Don't tend to read either
A Few Pages per Sitting or Finish at Least a Chapter? - Finish a chapter if possible.
Short Story or Creative Non-fiction Essay? - Essay. I'm often very disappointed in short stories.
"It was a dark and stormy night" or "Once upon a time"? - Dark & stormy. I tend to like writing with a bit of noticeable style if it's well done.
Buy or Borrow? - Borrow first, buy if I really like it. (But that's just a tendency; I just plain buy a lot of books, too.)
Book Reviews or Word of Mouth? - More word of mouth; occasionally a review grabs me.
