OK, who should be the next Bond? I’m impressed by the wide range of suggestions here. I especially liked the suggestion for Rege-Jean Page. No one mentioned Joseph Mawle, Edward Bluemel, Harry Lloyd, or Matthew Goode, though. Or Tobias Menzies!

I always wanted it to be Chiwetel Ejiofor, but I'm guessing he's aged out of that role since I started banging on about it.

I like how you think. Rege-Jean Page gets my vote based on his glorious turn as a paladin. I've seen him play an awesome guy and an asshole so it would be fun to get someone debonair yet morally ambiguous (I really loved how Craig's Bond addressed the unsavorinesses of the job).

I have no clue but I agree with the Idris Elba suggestion. I think it might be smarter to make it a historical film than try to keep it set in contemporary times.

Idris Elba said he didn’t want the role and I don’t blame him, but he’d be great at it if he did want it! And yes it would be fun to go back to Bond’s roots and do a period film

1, Bond really belongs in the cold war era, so they should set it then rather than continue to make films that age like yesterday’s news.

2, they’re going to cast another white dude, sadly, but i’d like to see Lashana Lynch doing the role for real.

I'd frankly prefer if the next were Bond. Jane Bond. So... hmm. My knowledge of the film industry is extremely patchy; I'm coming up short on mature female actors for the role.
