1. What did you do in 2022 that you'd never done before?
Have a percutaneous nephrolithotomy.
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn’t have any.
I have two for 2023, both of which I hope will be fulfilled in January and then I can forget about resolutions.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.
5. What countries did you visit?
I did no traveling this year.
6. What would you like to have in 2023 that you lacked in 2022?
Less time spent on healthcare. A desire to move my body more. A desire to leave the house.
7. What date from 2022 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I don't know how long they'll stay etched, but November 9-10 were my surgery dates for the kidney stone extraction.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Fanfic:
• Word Count (published on AO3): 206,534
• Stories (published on AO3): 62
9. What was your biggest failure?
I wrote a fair bit less than the last two years and didn't feel good about that. (Yes, I know I still wrote a lot.)
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had a UTI for months. (Resolved now, thankfully.)

Nothing stands out.
12. Where did most of your money go?
Mortgage, food, helping out family/friends

No, I save all my hatefulness for fictional villains

I was pretty into K.J. Charles's Society of Gentlemen series. I also really enjoyed a Great Course, Robert Garland's The Other Side of History: Daily Life in the Ancient World. Also, whyyy did I wait 60 years before reading any Georgette Hayer? The Black Moth was so fun. And Faith Hunter's Shining Smith series is great. Telepathic warrior cats!
21. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Apashe. El Melouk by Ahmed Saad.
22. What did you do on your birthday?
I wrote/posted two works for the Spook Me Ficathon.
23. What did you want and get?
Lots of nookie. FINALLY.
24. What did you want and not get?
Bacteria colonizing my bladder.
25. What was your favorite film of this year?
Of movies that came out in 2022, my favorites were Where the Crawdads Sing and The Batman.
26. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
No COVID. (I didn't catch it myself. It just makes the world a lot more sucky in a bunch of ways.)
27. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2022?
Joggers and knit shirts
28. What kept you sane?
Writing fanfic. My friends and sweeties having my back.
29. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
The two Toms (Hiddleston and Ellis) (*dreamy sigh*)
30. What political issue stirred you the most?
Fuck the reactionary Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.

The person I used to live with.
My dad (he's still alive but his mind's being eaten by dementia).

I didn't meet many new people this year but I got to know some people better.

That's not the word I'd use. There was a fair bit of stress and pain and also a lot of creativity and joy.
