Do you suppose the commas are supposed to represent hairs?

1 - Which side of the bed do you sleep on?

These days usually the right side assuming there is an outlet for my CPAP, but at times I've slept on the left side.

2 - How would someone describe how you look when you sleep?

Like an Alien, I suspect, since there's a hose coming out of my nose.

3 - Are you a morning person?

Only when my anxiety disorder is flaring up; then I wake up at 6 am with nightmares and can't get back to sleep. Otherwise I usually get up around 8 or 9, and I take a while to get started, and you'd better not get in between me and my coffee.

4 - Do you like to shower alone or with a partner?

I like both, but I tend more toward showering alone these days. Mostly because the shower isn't really big enough for me and a partner to maneuver comfortably. Maybe when we get our bathroom remodeled, that will change.

5 - How do you like your coffee/tea/drink of choice?

In the case of coffee, with plenty of a high-fat dairy product. At home I make coffee concentrate in a Toddy Coffee Maker and I drink it cold from the fridge with milk. At a cafe I usually order a latte or a breve.

My other drink of choice is a diet cola (any brand, including off brands, although I really can't get used to Diet Rite) with a squirt of lemon.

1. What's your comfort zone, temperature-wise?

40s - 60s Fahrenheit. That's why I moved to San Francisco. The OH and I are blessed with similar temperature preferences.

2. Are you a better gift giver or gift receiver, and why?

I've never thought of gift giving or receiving as something to apply the adjective "better" to. No one's ever given me feedback on whether I am a good gift receiver. As far as giving, I seem to please people when I put my mind to it or when something jumps up at me and says "I'm for so-and-so!" But I'm pretty sporadic at that. I don't give "occasion gifts" except to my parents on their birthdays or Christmas, and once in a while to newly married people.

3. What did you learn from your first pet?

Don't leave the carefully coiffed ball of pate de fois gras covered with slivered almonds unattended on the dining room table half an hour before the party.

4. What's under your bed?

A pink carpet and sometimes a cat. I don't want to think about what else the cat might have dragged under there.

5. Do you have a role model? If so, care to tell us?

I have lots of role models. A couple who come to mind are: my dad, because I really like how he thinks, how he stays interested in learning, what he considers important in life, and some of the ways he handles frustrating and difficult circumstances. And Ursula K. Le Guin, because I admire her writing and what I know of her career/life in general. (I sadly missed the Ursula K. Le Guin / Carol Emshwiller panel at Wiscon because I was sick.)
