My mind doesn't seem to have separate categories for "being embarrassed for matching a negative stereotype" and "being embarrassed in general." And trying to think about it more is bothering me. I guess that suggests the way I deal with it is [to] keep it in the background. And apparently there is a lot of emotional force in keeping it there. I think if I were to pay more attention to my feelings of embarrassment, I wouldn't do anything at all.
