Comment on this post and I will pick seven of your interests. You then, if you wish, explain them in your journal and re-post. Interests below picked by [livejournal.com profile] serenejournal.

a fetish for nuance is an interest shared between me and my sweetie [livejournal.com profile] kyubi. It's a form of sapiosexuality, combined with a fondness for the kind of indirect communication that becomes possible after two people have been in a relationship for long enough that they know a bunch of the usual pathways each other's minds run on.

aiee is the Association of Introverts Educating Everyone. I wrote about how it came about here. Naturally, it has no actual meetings.

amplectere potestem "et"—I love the phrase "embrace the power of 'and'" so I translated it into Latin.

cameo glass is a form of carving on colored glass that produces a raised surface decoration, usually white but sometimes another color. I've loved it ever since I was a kid and my grandfather had a collection of it. It's extremely expensive so I don't own any. Here is a photo of some cameo glass.

mutual degrumplement is what happens when [livejournal.com profile] kyubi and I get together when we're all stressed and stuff. We find each other relaxing but in a stimulating way. I can probably count on the fingers of one hand the number of people I've felt this way about in my whole lifetime, so it's pretty special.

shapeshifting is a fantasy/mythology notion in which a creature can change from one form into another. I like to contemplate it, write fiction/poetry about it, and read good fiction and poetry that incorporates it.

steampunk is a subgenre of speculative fiction hat I tend to like. Like most subgenres it's difficult to define but it can include a setting where steam is used as a major power source, a setting that retains some characteristics of the mid to late nineteenth century, noir elements, dystopic elements, a world with technology different from our own. Examples that might count as steampunk or having steampunk elements are the TV show Firefly, movies Brazil, Dark City, Howl's Moving Castle, and books by China Miéville, Philip Pullman, Neal Stephenson, Jules Verne.
