From my NWA Weekly Deals newsletter:

"Northwest is saving some preferred seat assignments (including exit, aisle and window seats) for domestic and international travelers until check-in. With Coach Choice, you can confirm these preferred seat assignments 24 hours prior to departure for a modest fee. Domestic seats range from $5 to $35."

It would have gone over better with me if they had said that people willing to sit in a middle seat were getting a discount. But there's no way to sugarcoat that they seem to be taking away the ability to choose a window or aisle seat when you purchase your ticket.

I have signed up for [livejournal.com profile] springwrite, which is an LJ community that supports and challenges you to write 150,000 words (of anything) in four months (1,250 words per day). The group is planning to have various prizes, prompts, word count reporting, and technique posts to keep the writers motivated.

This is a continuation of a project that started with [livejournal.com profile] summerwrite and [livejournal.com profile] autumnwrite. I've been watching [livejournal.com profile] autumnwrite for a while and I'm really impressed by their energy.

Who's with me? Signups close on December 31, the writing period is January 1 through April 30.
