I loved the album Van Halen so much when it came out. It was a perfectly packaged mood for being a 16-year-old, cooped up and fucking furious and aching to make trouble (even though I didn't have the slightest idea how).

Fandom happiness

I've been struggling with a fic for an exchange—it's longer and more plotty than most of what I've written. Last night I got inspired on it and liked what I wrote, to the point where I'm now eager to know what happens next, the same way I do for a book I'm enjoying reading.

This is a rare and very pleasant feeling for me.

(My muse will not follow an outline, which is why I still don't know what is going to happen next.)
