Fanlore defines idfic as: "may (but does not have to) be of low writing quality, but because it satisfies kinks, either sexual or emotional, it remains compelling....those fics you should be ashamed of enjoying and you know they’re kinda bad but you can’t help it, you love them anyways." (I think what I write is mostly idfic. Not that it's bad writing, at least not on purpose. Not that I think I or anyone should be ashamed of enjoying it. But it's all pretty self-indulgent.)
The minimum is 2K words, twice as long as the typical exchange. It ran for the second time in 2021. Around 200 fics were posted.
I wrote one assignment and one treat. Both were based on prompts I nominated, one of which is my OTP! I'm happy with the feedback for both fics.
