This round of WDLF, the eighth, expanded to We Divine Like Fen: Morphogenetic Fields. This is the third round I've participated in, and all of them have pushed me in really worthwhile ways, even though there's usually a "team effort" angle to the whole thing that tweaks my typical "I WORK ALOOOONE" attitude.
The way this round worked was that people signed up listing their DNWs and optionally including links to their AO3 bookmarks, works, and/or social media accounts. Assignees used these to psychically divine what kind of work their recipient wanted.
There were 100 signups and 140 works in 105 fandoms.
Authors were revealed when the collection received 600+ comments. That took 9 days.
I was assigned two recips. I added a new fandom to my works — Our Flag Means Death. I also wrote an original story.
I received an original story that was both just what I wanted but also unlike anything I've received before!
