I don't know if you've ever seen the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary newsletter, but toward the back there were usually at least two pages of pet memorials. I'd almost always read them anyhow- or as much as I could get through, then spend a couple of hours feeling completely raw.

Oddly enough, I don't mind watching animal rescue shows. I just can't stand the stories that pretend to tell you what the animal was thinking.
