I think Amazon keeps things in your cart for a month, but yeah, plenty of times with various sites I have a window open where I've been leisurely perusing things every so often, and then when I'm done and ready to order, my cart is empty because some hours have gone by since I added to it. Or even worse is a site like Threadless, where I'll add stuff to my cart, then log in, and logging in wipes out my cart.

Really? I would assume it would be shorter, for inventory-control purposes. (I really hadn't thought about it much before now, to tell the truth.)

I hadn't thought about it much, either. But if I'm thinking about something, I don't usually put it in a cart. I start carting when I'm ready to buy.
