New LJ community
16 Mar 2009 05:24 pmThis will be easy for me because I watch so many Japanese, Chinese, and Hong Kong movies already.
Comparisons are not the point, but the OH and I were talking about this community and he pointed out it would be (more of) a challenge for us to watch 12 films written and/or directed by women. Then we thought about watching 12 films that pass the Bechdel Rule.*
The Bechdel Rule states that a movie
1. It has to have at least two women in it,
2. Who talk to each other,
3. About something other than a man.
Here is the Dykes to Watch Out For strip in which it appeared.

Date: 19 Mar 2009 03:08 am (UTC)otherwise it would be very hard, because right now i am not even watching many movies written/directed by beige people, unless they're animation. somehow i don't seem to have the spoons for 1.5 hours of real life visual stimulation.
i don't feel that finding movies that pass the bechdel rule has become any easier over the years, or is that just my lack of general exposure talking?
