Are you having problems with LiveJournal?

I've been having a lot of problems with LJ lately. Often I get this message when I try to load a reading filter or a journal entry:

"Error running style: Style code didn't finish running in a timely fashion. Possible causes:
* Infinite loop in style or layer
* Database busy"

Is anyone else getting these? Does changing the journal's style make a difference?

I know this isn't happening to everyone, because I just this minute got a notification that someone posted a comment to one of my posts...but can't load it.

(Comments disabled on LJ for this post, for obvious reasons.)

Yep. I've been having that problem - am using the...err....Generator style.

It's been slow, too. http://status.livejournal.org says:

"LiveJournal may be slow to load for some users from time to time due to occasional periods of high traffic. Our Operations staff and sparkly unicorns are monitoring the situation."

Which would be adorable, if it weren't pissing me off.

If it's a journal entry you are trying to load, try putting:

?format=light

After the URL in order to read it.

I am not experiencing the comment-viewing problem, just general slowness. I am using the "Mixit" style.

Not that I’ve noticed. My own journal style is a custom one that I made to be very simple, but I see all kinds of other styles when I comment on others’ journals.

Well, I'm near positive the slowness problems are causing that style error. It's unfortunate that ditching the style system doesn't allow the page to complete loading.

a;ldskjf; YES. It's driving me NUTS. For me it's really slow, the page frequently comes up blank, and once I even got a temp ban for "hitting the site too quickly", whatever that means. (No, I had not been reloading repeatedly or anything, it just came up randomly.)

If they don't fix it pretty soon my migration to DW will become complete. (Right now, I crosspost most everything.)

I haven't been seeing any of that, though on the other hand I've also been overly not caught up lately (though last night I made it back through the last 500 or so entries on my friends list).
