It's hot here and I am a
firecat of Very Little Brain. Under the cut are some photos of me sporting various newly acquired eyewear. Pretend you're reading the Hammacher Schlemmer catalog.

Date: 25 Aug 2010 04:25 am (UTC)I like the Even More Dorky Not Very Steampunk Goggles. What are they intended for? Swimming?

Date: 25 Aug 2010 04:40 am (UTC)I bought them on a whim intending them for steampunk. I would need to modify them somehow.

Date: 25 Aug 2010 06:46 am (UTC)Because the Multifocal don't work for computers at all, same complaint as you, and they are only tolerable for driving. And since my old single focus lenses worked just fine for driving, I thought it would be better to have that again.
Those are some serious goggles. I just got glam Steampunk ones. Though I'm also thinking of getting a pair from the Foglios. They are fun, glam ones again though.

Date: 25 Aug 2010 07:08 am (UTC)I definitely need to do some glamming up of those goggles before I use them for steampunk costuming.

Date: 25 Aug 2010 01:28 pm (UTC)I got a pair of single-vision driving glasses, too, complete with Progressive lenses. Of course, Progressive basic lenses *don't work* in cars, because they use UV rays to know when to change. Bah!
Your goggles are way cool!

Date: 25 Aug 2010 05:35 pm (UTC)I've seen my girlfriend's automatically darkening glasses and I know they wouldn't ever get dark enough for me. I wear fit-over sunglasses because they darken the view out the sides as well as the front. (They are enormous—more evidence of dorkiness.)
Thanks!
