Today is the 25th anniversary of the release of the Mac Plus.

I found an emulator, Mini vMac, that runs versions of the Mac operating system from 1 to 7-something.

Here is a YouTube video that shows how to download and install it on Windows, Mac, or Linux.

This version comes with a couple of games, MacWrite, MacPaint, etc.

I'm feeling old now too. Our first computer was an Apple 2E. I know we had an Mac Plus and an SE - I think that was the name or am I getting confused with some car name? See how old I'm getting, I can't even remember the line of Mac's after that.

Ah the "good old days" when an operating system fit on a a 400k floppy.

The really scary thing, I think we still have one of those old Macs in the basement...We should fire it up one of these days.

Ooh!

Looks like I forgot to thank you for sharing this link! My first computer ever was an old Mac like this and seeing this was nicely nostalgic.

My first computer was a Mac Plus, a Christmas present from Mike. I spent hours creating abstract art with Mac Paint.

:) I never had one myself, but I have that installed because someone recommended me a game called "The Fool's Errand," that runs on a classic Mac. I went:

Teletype + Acoustic Coupler
Dumb Terminal + Acoustic Coupler
Weird experimental pre-home-computers
Vic-20
Apple ][
DOS Desktop PCs
Windows Desktop PCs
Solaris-based Laptop PC
BeOS-based Desktop PC
SGI Indy
Mac 7200 w/ Mac OS 8
iBook w/ Mac OS 9
PowerBook w/ Mac OS 9
MacBook Pro w/ Mac OS X

And that's where I'm at now. :)

Oh, I totally forgot that right before this MacBook Pro, I had a Powermac or a Mac Pro -- I can't remember what they were called at the time. A dual 1GHz G4 tower system, anyway. :)

I actually often find myself thinking that it would be fun to get an ooooooold Mac.
