I am nonplussed by the veteran saying she had it just as bad in the military, and that these people also "chose" to be there.

And it's a problem that's been going on for decades and decades, making it all the more shameful.

What bothers me more is that this kind of stuff can happen if no one will call attention to it, and that we've become the kind of society where no one really can call attention to it.

We shouldn't need lawsuits to make this happen. We shouldn't have a society where stuff like this can fly under the radar.

i didn't even like to look.

the uk is inhumane in it's system, but even having the death penalty is so backward, morally. it shocks me. i like to think of myself being potentially able to slip into american society, but i think that's a fantasy.
