...that it annoys me when I do something as a favor to someone else, and their first response is to snarl at me for not doing it the way they want it done?
yuk. my similar, yet different, rant is about people who ask for help doing something (either by personal email direct to me, or on a mailing-list which i then reply to, and then they email me back). i then spend a couple of hours trying to remind myself how i got it working and then writing a long detailed explanation. and then ... nothing. no indication as to whether what i suggested worked or not, whether they'd got it working in the end despite my advice, no thanks, zilch.
this leaves me with "unfinished business" flags in my head, and sometimes in the middle of the night i'll start wondering whether that guy ever managed to compile wxgtk on hpux 11.0, or whether the guy i worked for last summer managed to get arabic fonts for LaTeX installed and working. grrrr.
Ah yes, people who find a simple "Thank you" to be too difficult. *grr*
And while I'm on the subject, how about people who email me asking "Where can I find big people's clothing?" without bothering to read my FAQs devoted to the subject, and then when I email them back with a couple of suggestions and a hint to read the FAQs for more, don't bother to respond.
Cool! Thanks for mentioning the FAQ. Of course I labor under the double burden for a woman - big & tall. *sigh* Yes, my waist *is* that size and I *do* need an inseam that long. Get over it!g
It seems the clothing manufacturers design clothing for a woman who doesn't actually exist in nature. It's too short for you and it's too long for me. Although I am happy with the current "crop pants" fashion because the "crop pants" look like regular pants on me.
