The Unexpected
how dare i request
that he wrap his feelings,
his excited bouncy happy
gloaty smuggy self-satisfied
feelings,
his appreciative loving spilling-over life-affirming
feelings,
up in a little blanket,
tied with a little bow,
stored in a little jar
in a dark closet,
where i can't see them,
whence they emerge only
when I can't see?
how dare he say i'm worth it
and yes he will?
