You might be able to interest curiousangel - he's the small dog fan in our family. I've always wanted a large dog. By preference, the larger the better - I'd love a Newfie or an Irish Wolfhound. He wants a Dachshund, so you can see how much negotiating we have left to do.

We may compromise on a rescue Greyhound. His mother has an utterly sweet Greyhound/Doberman cross - Greyhound build and personality, with black-and-tan Dobie coloring. And, you know, kind of medium-sized.

I like both small and large dogs. It was really funny to watch Blackie interact with the ~1-pound Chihuahua in dog training class. He kept a deliberately respectful distance.

Greyhounds are such cool creatures. A Dobie Greyhound cross would sure look interesting.
