This one isn't curling much, but it's slightly, um, parallelogram. I think I figured out why while working on the third square (not finished yet).

Here are some of the lyrics to the song I'm listening to:
Those who have died have never, never left
The dead are not under the earth
They are in the rustling trees, they are in the groaning woods
They are in the crying grass, they are in the moaning rocks
The dead are not under the earth

So listen more often to things than to beings
Listen more often to things than to beings
'Tis the ancestors' breath when the fire's voice is heard
'Tis the ancestors' words in the voice of the water

oh i like the square, but it made me hungry for waffles! LOL!

The "trapezoid" problem usually occurs because you aren't throwing the chain one or chain 2 or however many the pattern calls for in at the end to get the crochet to "climb" up to the next level you are working on. I had that problem when I first started, indeed, it was one that stumped me for a year or so, I had about given up hope until I ran into someone who crochets left handed and she sat down and watched me and spotted what I was screwing up.

Indeed it could! It sounds like I work for Leisure arts, but actually I'm just a satisfied customer. Once you learn thier "code" for writing instruction patterns, they are consistent with it, and they usually tell you whether to count the turning chain or no....I get frustrated because most of my books are Leisure arts, but the ones my grandmother had were old, some of them were even from Ireland, where of course it's all European crochet and if I remember right (I'd have to double check) they count a half double crochet as a double, a double as a triple, and I forget what they call a triple, it's all ass backwards.

I've written and offered to do pattern testing for annie's attic and other companies if they would provide the yarn, but no answer, so I guess they don't give a rat's bootie, which just encourages me to spend my money on leisure art books.

How Miss Selkie doing? Any word from the vet yet?
