I can't control the level of water in that pond (we don't use it as a pond, but it gets full of water in the rainy season); apparently the level had dropped to "just right for bird bathing". It was really cute.

It's funny how nice having the house to yourself can be, even when you live with people you adore, whose company you can honestly never get enough of. A friend's eyes carry a weight, a pressure, that stranger's eyes don't.

Yup, I know what you mean. It's nice to need to take care of just yourself, to not need to worry for a few days about taking care of anyone else.

Yep, and most of all I like having complete time freedom. I don't have to stop something to go do something else.

Also, when I have the house to myself for a while, I feel like I'm on an extended date with myself and the various inner people/characters/archetypes/what have you in my mind. The necklace has alphabet beads that spell out "eirawen dyan," who is one of same.

Interestingly, I also had egg salad for breakfast (yesterday). I boiled some eggs last weekend and took the last two to work, and made egg salad for myself and put it on a bagel. Mmmm.
