The movie Devil in a Blue Dress (based on Walter Mosley's book) should have launched a franchise

Opinion: The way we ration ventilators is biased (because even if we only use health status and life expectancy, and not some notion of who's "useful to society," oppression harms people's health, so oppressed people end up getting triaged out unfairly)

Woah, yeah, stressing the body unnecessarily would be a bad idea now. I hadn't thought about that!

I've been listening to "The Micheaux Mission" podcast (2 men review black movies and sometimes disagree on what that means) and have bookmarked a number of movies I hadn't heard of but now I want to watch sometime (still busy teleworking for now).

https://www.micheauxmission.com/ -- it's fun, and I like the way they engage with listener feedback. Some episodes I skip to the end after I decide I'm definitely not interested in the movie. I'm working through the back episodes and trying to decide whether to listen to Get Out (now that I've gotten to when they covered that) or wait until I watch the movie first (I never saw it, but I did catch some spoilers, alas).

And I didn't say before, but I'm the only person I know who saw Devil In a Blue Dress in a theater back when it was released! I was a big movie hound back in those days.

Thank you for these! As I just told Snopes, I've been relying on them for years. They're massively overworked, with just 10 fact-checkers, and I donated $30-- wayyy over my usual (several each day) donations to Democratic and other progressive efforts to save our democracy-- and became a Founding Member.

... now I want that sandcastle-builder to do the building I work in.

Well, worked in. When we worked in buildings. You know.
