I don't have an issue with the word queer the way this writer does, but a lot of the rest of what they say resonates.
"I did not have an easy time at school in the 1980s and 90s. The academic side of it was mostly fine, but I was a target for bullies both in my peer group and among teachers. I was weird: I know now that I’m autistic, bisexual and genderqueer, but I didn’t know any of that then, and neither did the bullies. They didn’t need to; they could see that I didn’t conform with the norms they wanted to police, and that was enough."

Weirdmisia is an excellent concept and should jump into widespread use, because there is a lot of common cause between all the people who get bullied for being weird. (With the usual caveats that some people can be both weird and prescriptive at others for their weirdness.)
