Fandom happiness

I've been struggling with a fic for an exchange—it's longer and more plotty than most of what I've written. Last night I got inspired on it and liked what I wrote, to the point where I'm now eager to know what happens next, the same way I do for a book I'm enjoying reading.

This is a rare and very pleasant feeling for me.

(My muse will not follow an outline, which is why I still don't know what is going to happen next.)

My writing is always that way. People think I'm nuts when I tell them that my characters will NOT do what I say but it's true!
