Lucifer.
One way I can hint at the appeal of this show is to say "Yes, the premise sounds very annoying, but somehow the way they do it works." I've said that to people who've said "I don't like police procedurals," "I don't like religious stuff," "I don't like supernatural horror," "I don't like shows focusing on white guys who think they're hot shit." Some of them have tried it and...succumbed.
Another way I can describe it is to say that two of my sweeties are now fans, and each of us likes it for different reasons. (Although we all like the humor.)

- Tall dark fierce men/supernaturals who look like men.
- People with wings.
- Redemption and character development arcs for almost everybody.
- Great female characters, who are kickass in a bunch of different ways, not all of which involve physical violence. They sometimes talk to each other about stuff other than men.
- A wide variety of relationships - romantic and/or sexual and/or friendly and/or platonic.
- Sex-positive content. Some queer content (not as much as we'd like).
- Mythology and religion stuff to ponder.
- Tropes, tropes, tropes.
- Opportunities to argue with canon.
- (For me: endless opportunities for fanfic - in canon, canon-divergent, crossover, historical...)

- For Yuletide 2020, Kutsushita asked for Moby Dick fic featuring a whale fall. This was one of the results. Creepy, sensual horror, all the more horrific for being mostly biologically accurate. Written with Melville's style in mind but arguably even better than his style.
