I put in some nominations for
limitedtheatricalrelease, an exchange for small to medium sized film fandoms (<1000 works on AO3). I didn't sign up but someone requested one of my nominations, Devil in a Blue Dress, so I wrote a treat for them. It's the first fic for this film on AO3 as far as I can tell.
I highly recommend both the movie and the book of the same name it's based on.

Summary: Easy Rawlins isn’t happy to see Mouse again. But there’s unfinished business to attend to.
To atone for any dialect errors, I plan to take the class on Dialogue, Dialect, & Narrative Voice from Writing the Other if they offer it again.
I highly recommend both the movie and the book of the same name it's based on.

Date: 6 Sep 2021 09:59 am (UTC)I haven’t finished the whole Easy Rawlins book series, because I’m going to be sad when there’s no more.
The people who run the WTO site are great, I used to see them when I went to Wiscon. And I strongly recommend the book of the same title.
