2001: A Space Odyssey (HAL 9000, David Bowman)
- HAL/Dave ship or gen is fine.
- Body modification and/or body swap:
- HAL puts Dave into the cryochamber and modifies his body (perhaps imagining Dave is ill).
- HAL downloads himself into the body of one of the corpsicles.
- HAL and Dave swap "bodies"
Amadeus (Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Antonio Salieri)
- Feel free to include Constanze and/or other characters. I especially like the Emperor.
- Salieri/Mozart or Salieri/Mozart/Constanze ship would be good; also fine to include or substitute other ship(s) or go for gen.
- Salieri remembers the time he despaired and threw out all his moral principles and debauched himself with Mozart (and friends).
- Salieri tries to seduce Constanze, and/or some other romantic interest of Mozart, to make Mozart jealous.
- Constanze/Mozart invite Salieri to have a threesome with them and afterward Salieri has more reasons to be envious of Mozart...
- AU / canon divergence welcome.
Altered Carbon (Takeshi Kovacs, Poe)
- I ship Kovacs/Poe, especially Poe pining for Kovacs (requited or not). I love Poe's loyalty and yearning and caretaking urges.
- I'm a multishipper; feel free to write about other groupings.
- I'd enjoy something that leans into the contrasts and similarities of a sentient entity that has always existed as an AI and a human who has been downloaded into many sleeves.
- What kinds of adventures could Poe and Kovacs have after Poe is downloaded into portable storage?
- I didn't specifically request Kristin Ortega or Lizzie Elliot, but feel free to bring one or both of them in. I'm especially interested in seeing Poe helping to heal Elliot in VR, and/or the interactions between Ortega and Kovacs wearing a different sleeve.
- Bring in any other canon characrters you want; original characters also welcome.
Archy and Mehitabel - Don Marquis (Archy, Mehitabel)
- Either ship fic or gen is fine. If ship fic, then it's fine to put them in different bodies or have their current relationship be more of a pining-type relationship.
- I would love more of Archy's typewritten vers libre musings, but don't feel obligated to write pastiche.
- How about something from Mehitabel’s point of view (either filtered thru Archy or in her own voice)? Toujours gai!
- Send Archy and Mehitabel on an adventure together — either in their current incarnations or different ones. Was Mehitabel really Cleopatra in a past life? was Archy there with her? AUs welcome!
- Other canon characters, original character(s) welcome (especially if they are cats :D)
Der Himmel über Berlin | Wings of Desire (Damiel, Cassiel)
- I didn't request Worldbuilding as a character, but I'd love to have some if writing it appeals to you. How did the angels come to have the duties they have? Tell me more about how it works when they decide to become human.
- I ship Cassiel/Damiel. As angels they might have more of a mind-to-mind relationship, and/or a physical relationship, however angels manage physicality
- I'd love fic that includes the angels' day-to-day activities: listening in on people's thoughts, comforting the dying, hanging out in the library a lot, and reporting particularly notable events to each other.
- Tell me about Damiel and Cassiel's longstanding relationship and how they see their roles, and their philosophical difference about embodiedness.
- Give me more about how Cassiel feels about Damiel’s deciding to become human.
- Feel free to bring in Der Filmstar (Peter Falk’s character), other canon characters, and/or original character(s).
- Canon-specific DNW: major focus on Marion)
James Bond - Ian Fleming (James Bond)
- I ship Bond with pretty much everybody, but Bond/villain is a favorite.
- Maybe some past enemies band together to take him out of circulation.
- I didn't specifically request the other nominated characters, M, Ponsonby, or Moneypenny, but feel free to include any of them, or any other canon characters you like, or original character(s).
- In the books, M is male, but I'm good with an AU where M is a different gender.
- Some things I like about Fleming's verison of Bond: see-saws between world-weary and curious/excited; some cynical tendencies but doesn't quite get all the way there because he secretly cares too much, privately more insecure than he lets on
