15 or so mostly-fandom-adjacent facts about me

• On the day I was born a gallon of gas in the US cost approximately 31 cents.
  
• My first fannish memory is watching Amok Time on its original air date in 1967.
  
• Another one was 8 years later, watching Leonard Nimoy play Sherlock Holmes on stage and crossing over my two favorite characters by throwing in a line about how something wasn’t “logical”.
  
• My dad read Lord of the Rings to me twice
  
• In high school I played bass in a terrible cliche of a rock band. My friends and I also wrote rock band fic and thought we were the only ones
  
• In college I had a punk rock radio show.
  
• I owned an original 128K Macintosh.
  
• I’ve lived in the SF Bay Area for 36 years.
  
• I went to my first SF convention (Baycon) in 1991
  
• I was active on Usenet before spam was a thing. And after.
  
• My first Wiscon SF convention was #19, 1995
  
• I watched Babylon 5 during its original run (it’s one of my favorite shows)
  
• My first publicly shared fanfic was a Star Trek:AOS/Babylon 5 crossover that I’ve never finished. It was written for the first A Ficathon Goes Into a Bar in 2010. (A Ficathon Goes Into a Bar is still running)
  The Covid pandemic kickstarted me into writing fanfic in earnest.

I will happily babble away about pretty much anything on the Interests list of my DW profile.

Fannish interests include: Lucifer, Sherlock Holmes, Star Trek, Babylon 5, the Loki-centric portions of MCU. My fanfic is at firecat — viewer discretion advised.
