Actually, far more impressive than [livejournal.com profile] knit_challenge is the web site mentioned in the first entry on that community: Freeform Knitting and Crochet by Prudence. Heartstoppingly gorgeous stuff!

[livejournal.com profile] teal7, Prudence does workshops in Australia. Of course you could probably figure out what she's doing without a workshop.

Wow, that stuff really is gorgeous, isn't it? My thing, fibre-art-wise, has always been more toward embroidery and sewing-related stuff (with occasional dabblings in weaving) rather than knitting and crocheting... but the stuff on that website would definitely give me cause to reconsider that. Hrmmm. Now I'm imagining trying the technique on that website while using some of those stunning yarns in that shop you showed me when I was visiting in January. Hrm indeed.

If Prudence did workshops in any part of Australia near me, I'd think I might be in danger of aquiring a new hobby. :-) As it is, I'm seriously considering getting a copy of the book and going yarn-hunting locally.
